Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability
Up to the limit you select, bodily injury and property damage liability will cover your legal liability for injuries or property damage incurred by the party not at fault.
Explanation of Coverage Limits
If you have a policy that reads, 15/30/10 this means:
No more than $15,000 will be paid for bodily injury per person.
No more than $30,000 will be paid for bodily injury per accident.
No more than $10,000 will be paid for property damage per accident.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist
If you find yourself in a situation in which the motorist at fault is not insured, then the damages that you incur will be covered by your uninsured motorist bodily injury policy. This includes medical treatments and lost wages.
If you find yourself in a situation in which the cost of your injuries exceeds the liability limits of the motorist at fault then your underinsured motorist bodily injury policy will pay the balance that is not covered by the motorist at fault.
If your motorcycle is damaged by someone who is uninsured, the uninsured motorists property damage policy will cover the cost of the damage to your motorcycle.
Medical Payments
Medical Payments coverage can be used regardless of which party was at fault. This coverage will pay the cost of the necessary medical care you receive as a result of a motorcycle accident. Often, this coverage is limited to treatment you receive within the first 3 years after the accident and can be limited to a specific dollar amount.
